7.1 How to supress CVE's and CPE's
How to suppress through External Scanner
From the dashboard locate the drop down labelled “scanners” at the top of your screen
Once the drop down appears select “External scanner”
On the external scanner page click the heading that says hosts
From the hosts click on the arrow of the IP address you would like to examine
Now after clicking the arrow you can either suppress your CVE’s and CPE’s from the Attack Surface Mapper or specific ports
To compress a single CVE select the button that says suppression on the desired CVE, if you want to select multiple CVE’s then tick the checkboxes of the desired CVE’s and then suppression in the top right
After selecting the CVE/CPE you would like to suppress there should be a pop up where you’ll have to decide, if you want to supress a CVE or a CPE, Suppression Type, and the reason you want to suppress
Now the CVE/CPE should be gone and in your suppression tab
How to suppress through LAN Scanner
From the dashboard locate the drop down labelled “scanners” at the top of your screen
Once the drop down appears select “LAN scanner”
On the LAN scanner page find the IP you wish to investigate, click on it to reveal the drop down
Click on the port(s) you wish to examine, check the box next to the desired CVE(s) then click suppression in the top right
After selecting the CVE/CPE you would like to suppress there should be a pop up where you’ll have to decide, if you want to supress a CVE or a CPE, Suppression Type, and the reason you want to suppress
6. Now the CVE/CPE should be gone and in your suppression tab
